This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you access or use our platform and related services (collectively, the "Services"). Leedo is currently available only to users in the United States.
This Privacy Policy applies globally and is designed to comply with applicable data protection and privacy laws, including the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK General Data Protection Act, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), and other applicable US state, federal, and international privacy laws. Where specific jurisdictions impose additional requirements, those are addressed in the jurisdiction-specific sections below.
By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the Services.

2. Data Controller and Processor
2.1 When We Act as Controller
Talk Dog acts as the data controller (or equivalent designation under applicable law) for Personal Information we collect directly from you — for example, when you visit our website, create an account, text Leedo, or contact us.
2.2 Business Partners
Leedo does not give Business Partners access to your conversations with Leedo. With your permission, a Business Partner may receive the information described in Section 6.2. A Business Partner that receives information about you is responsible for how it handles that information, under its own privacy policy. If Talk Dog later provides services to a Business Partner that involve handling Personal Information on that Business Partner's behalf, we will act as a processor (service provider) under a written agreement and will update this Privacy Policy.

3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account and Registration Data: Your mobile phone number, name, email address, and other information you provide when you sign up or set up Leedo.
- Billing and Payment Data (if we offer paid features): Payment method details, billing address, and transaction history. Payment card information is processed by our third-party payment processors and is not stored on our servers.
- Communications: Content of emails, support requests, feedback, and other communications you send to us.
- Conversations and Content: The messages you send to Leedo, Leedo's replies, and any photos or other content you send.
- Pet Information: Information you give us about your dog and your household, such as name, breed, age, personality, routines, lifestyle, preferences, desired outcomes, and any behavior or health concerns, and facts Leedo remembers from your conversations. You can ask Leedo what it remembers, correct it, or ask it to forget.
- Assessment Answers: Your answers to a behavior assessment on leedo.pet, such as the separation anxiety check, and its result. We save them without your name or phone number and use them, in aggregate, to improve Leedo. If you then sign up from the same browser, we add them to your dog's profile so Leedo can use them, and they are then handled like the rest of your Pet Information.
- Messaging and Referral Information: Your mobile phone number, a record of your text-message consent (see Section 21), your time zone and check-in preferences, and information about invitations or referrals you send or use.
3.2 Information Collected Automatically

- Log Data: Server logs that record requests made to our servers, including timestamps, URLs, and error information.
- Cookies and Similar Technologies: Information collected through cookies, web beacons, pixels, and similar tracking technologies. See Section 7 for details.

- Analytics Providers: We may receive aggregated or pseudonymized analytics data from third-party analytics services.

6. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your Personal Information. We share Personal Information only in the following circumstances:
6.1 Service Providers
We engage trusted third-party service providers who process Personal Information on our behalf to help operate and improve the Services. These include:

6.2 Business Partners
Leedo may refer you to, or link you to, a veterinary clinic, trainer, or other business or service when it may help you or your dog. Business Partners do not see your conversations with Leedo.
With your permission, Leedo may share your dog's name, breed, and age, and a short summary of your and your dog's preferences, desired outcomes, personality, and lifestyle, so that the Business Partner can better serve your dog. We tell you which Business Partner will receive this and what will be shared before we share it, and we share it only if you say yes. You can withdraw your permission at any time by replying UNSHARE to Leedo, by telling Leedo in your own words that you want to stop sharing, by using the settings in the Leedo web app when available, or by emailing privacy@leedo.pet. When you withdraw, we stop sharing and tell the Business Partner that you have withdrawn your permission.
We do not share your conversations, photos, mobile phone number, or text-message opt-in data under this Section (see Section 6.6). A Business Partner that receives information from you handles it under its own privacy policy. If you start from a link a Business Partner sent you, such as a clinic's intake link, we share the information you enter there with that Business Partner.
Business Partners may in the future pay Talk Dog for services or for referrals. If a referral involves compensation, we will tell you when we make the referral.
6.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose Personal Information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with applicable law; (b) enforce our Terms of Service; (c) protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property, or that of our users or the public; or (d) respond to an emergency.
6.4 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, Personal Information may be transferred as part of the transaction. We will notify you of any such transfer and any choices you may have regarding your information.

7.2 Your Cookie Choices
You can manage cookie preferences through our cookie consent banner, your browser settings, or by using a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. Note that disabling certain cookies may limit Platform functionality.
7.3 Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as required by applicable law, including the CCPA/CPRA, Colorado Privacy Act, Connecticut Data Privacy Act, and other US state laws that mandate recognition of universal opt-out mechanisms. When we detect a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out request for the sale or sharing of Personal Information and for targeted advertising.
We do not currently respond to generic "Do Not Track" browser signals, as there is no industry-standard protocol for interpreting them.
8. International Data Transfers
Talk Dog is based in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your Personal Information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and potentially other countries where our service providers operate.
8.1 EEA, UK, and Switzerland
For transfers of Personal Information from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland to the United States or other countries not deemed to provide an adequate level of data protection, we rely on:
- EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF): Where applicable, we rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, the UK Extension to the DPF, and the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework as certified by the U.S. Department of Commerce.
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs): We use the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (2021 version), supplemented with additional safeguards where necessary, as an additional transfer mechanism.
- UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA): For UK transfers, we use the UK IDTA or UK Addendum to the EU SCCs.
- Transfer Impact Assessments: We conduct transfer impact assessments where required to evaluate the legal framework of the destination country and implement supplementary technical and organizational measures to ensure an adequate level of protection.
8.2 Other Jurisdictions
For transfers from other jurisdictions, we comply with applicable local requirements, which may include obtaining your consent, relying on adequacy determinations, or implementing appropriate contractual safeguards.
You may request a copy of the relevant transfer safeguards by contacting us.

We process deletion requests within 45 days. We may keep limited records, such as proof of your consent and opt-out, where the law requires it or to honor your choices.
10. Data Security
We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect Personal Information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256)
- Access controls and role-based permissions
